Yaya Toure to hold crunch talks with City

Manchester City midfield lynchpin Yaya Toure will hold crunch talks with the club hierarchy over his future at the Premier League champions.

According to reports, the two parties are set to hold the meeting during the club’s pre-season tour of the United States of America as City sweat on sorting out the future of the talismanic Ivory Coast midfielder.

The 31 year old had been involved in a very public spat with high ranking City officials after claiming that the club management had not given him the recognition he deserves after leading the club to two Premier League titles in three years apart from ignoring him on his birthday. He also claimed that the City officials did not allow him to spend time with his cancer stricken brother Ibrahim who was admitted in a Manchester hospital.

City are adamant about not letting the player leave the club after he played a major role in leading the Citizens to two Premier League and an FA Cup triumph in his four seasons at the club. The full schedule for all sporting events involving Man City are up online now – whether Yaya plays in them is another matter.

Yaya Toure signed a new four year deal with the club just last December and that gives the club the advantage as they look to hold on to player.

Cash rich French side Paris Saint Germain is keen to take advantage of the situation and bring Toure to the club while Real Madrid as well as Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United are also keeping tabs on the player’s situation with the club, according to reports.

City would be unwilling to let the player leave for a Premier League rival but with Paris Saint Germain flexing their muscles in Europe, Yaya Toure might just be plying his trade alongside the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva and Edinson Cavani at the Parc des Princes next season.
