KOLO TOURE: I’M STAYING PUT

The veteran defender has declared his resolve to stay put at his current club till the end. Kolo Toure says his current club at the English Premier League, Liverpool FC is amazing. The defender has been in the frontline of rumors of being sold or sent on loan, especially since the arrival of Joel Matip at the club.

The Ivorian has vowed to remain steadfast in the “fight until the end” so he could prove he deserves a new deal with The Reds. The defender is expected to be released when current contract lapses this summer. Joel Matip arrived from Schalke on a free transfer and is set to replace the defender from this summer. On the other hand, Kolo Toure has refused to accept that he has no future at Anfield.

The 34-year-old maintains he would convince head coach, Jurgen klopp to retain him for at least another year with the club.

“I’ve not been told anything and I am just enjoying every second of being at Liverpool Football Club. The future is not the most important thing for me. What’s important is what’s happening right now. I’m in the team at the moment and I am showing every game that I’m still here,” the defender said.

He also said: “It doesn’t matter what other people say, I have this smile, I’m very happy and I always give 100% for this club. This club is amazing. If I keep performing, that will force people to change their minds. Sometimes you can make people change their minds by performing well and that’s my challenge right now. I can show people by my games that I’m still a top player. That’s all I can do. I am a fighter and I will fight until the end.”

The former Gunner has said he would carry on with football even if he doesn’t get a deal at Liverpool. He added: “This is a fantastic club. A new manager has come in and we will see what happens. I don’t want to think about the future yet. I’ve not had any offers for next season yet. If I keep playing like I am at the moment then I’m sure doors will open for me.”
