CITY STRUGGLING WITHOUT DE BRUYNE?

Manchester City are fighting many battles at a time. This was supposed to be the season where Pep Guardiola pulls all forces into succeeding in Europe, after conquering England many times over. He broke all sorts of records, winning the league back to back. It was time to break into the continental market and gain ground.


However, the injury crisis at the Etihad has become a major issue. For the first time this season, the high scoring City setup could not get a goal when they faced Wolves at home on Sunday. The defending champs are now eight points off league leaders Liverpool. Guardiola insists the fight is not over this early and truly it is way too early.

Laporte Injury will be Dealt by Us, Says Kevin De Bruyne

It has been accepted by Kevin de Bruyne that Aymeric Laporte getting hurt during the match between Brighton and Manchester City has brought about tension among the players. He said that if the injury is considered to be serious, then it will be a big blow for the Manchester City team. Though they won that match, but they lost a star player of their team against Brighton.

The midfielder from Belgium has spent a lot of time outside of the team for various treatments during the last season, but he made a great come back this season with full recovery. Kevin de Bruyne feels that with these injuries, the chances for them to race for the title of Premier League becomes weak. Kevin De Bruyne: A Class Apart Midfielder

One more player who got over his injuries this season and is ready to make way for him is Kevin De Bruyne. This influential Belgian player is all set to make his impact in the field after a set back from the field due to an injury. But due to his contributions, Manchester City made a clean sweep in the four English domestic trophies. The Belgian midfielder made an impact in the season for City and played a crucial role in their wins. He scored some of the greatest goals for his team at crucial times such as in the competitive 2-0 Premier League win over Cardiff at the Etihad in April in early weeks.

Manager Pep Guardiola also admired the role and the game of Kevin De Bruyne and said that he showed his midfield effort and won the match for his team. He was also seen in action in the win in the FA cup finals at Wembley, where they won by 6-0. Apart from his game, he also is active in supporting and motivating his teammates and inspiring others through his acts of helpfulness. One such incident was when he defended John Stones, who was the defaulter for his team England in the Nations League match. This was the UEFA league defeat against Holland, where he was at fault for two goals.

City must stay focus

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne believes that the team should remain focus and consistent if they want to win the title. He said that there are so many games left and that they will have to win each one of them if they want to win the title.

He said that this is one of the most competitive Premier Leagues ever and that they will have to be at their best in order to win it.

MANCHESTER CITY CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PREVIEW

Manchester City takes on German side Schalke O4 in the return leg of the round of 16 clash of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday at the Etihad.  The Premier League Champions won the away leg in Germany by 3-2 in what was a tense match.

 

Manchester City had to come from behind in the game and played the majority of the second half with 10 men after the dismissal of Nicolas Otamendi.  However, the return leg is expected to be a different proposition for the German side at the Etihad Stadium. Manchester City are on a run of six victories which has seen the club wrestle the top spot back from Liverpool in the Premier League.
